It’s been a while since I sent an update, sorry about that. There’s been lots going on behind the scenes and I’m so close to getting started.
At the beginning of February the shed company came to install the workshop – it’s basically an adapted summerhouse and takes up 90% of our garden! But not being very green fingered, this doesn’t matter too much to us – I’ll get a lot more use out of the space as a workshop.
Through February I had help from my brilliant husband Oli and wonderful uncle Ian who got it insulated, put flooring down and finished the inside to a high standard. I was fortunate enough to get some insulation, plywood and flooring tiles for free from an office refit company who were chucking it in a skip the next day. It felt like a good omen to my future in recycling waste materials into jewellery 🙂
In March our electrician, Andy, came and extended power through the house and out to the garden. The workshop has it’s own fuse box, 3 plug sockets and a ceiling light – what luxury, I won’t have to unplug anything or rely on crappy little lamps! Last week I painted the interior bright pink and then moved all the furniture, materials and tools inside. It’s shaping up very nicely and I’d planned to get started on making some prototype jewellery this weekend but have been hit with a bug and can’t manage it just yet.
And finally, The Offcut Project and The Mildred Trouble Shop will now trade as one brand: Trash Panda. Huge thanks to Will who designed my logo.
THANK YOU again for all your kind support for this Crowdfunder, I intend to make you all very proud!
