About Trash Panda

Jewellery as unique as your personality — handcrafted from the things most people throw away.

At Trash Panda, every piece begins life as something that’s been discarded: waste plastic, industrial offcuts, pre-loved textiles and recycled precious metals. From a small garden studio in Southsea, these forgotten materials are transformed into wearable art with attitude.

Unusual shapes, bold colour combinations and materials you’d never expect to see in a pair of earrings come together in designs that celebrate creativity, sustainability and story. Each piece is a tiny masterpiece of upcycling and proof that “waste” can be wonderful.

From minimalist elegance to bold, joyful statements, discover sustainable, handcrafted jewellery made from reclaimed materials; the perfect finishing touch for people who love individuality and care about the planet.

Meet the Maker

Lou has been making jewellery since 2020, having taught herself at her dining table with a starter kit of pliers and jewellery findings.

Her first store, The Mildred Trouble Shop, had the pleasure of 350+ Etsy orders, sold to hundreds of people face-to-face at local markets and is stocked in 3 outlets in Portsmouth.

Never content with sitting still and with a passion for sustainability, Lou’s constantly upskilling and finding new materials to work with. In 2023 she launched a Crowdfunder for a workshop and Trash Panda was born – a brand new jewellery collection using waste materials.

Whether it’s an eye catching pair of earrings or a quirky necklace, each piece is designed to make you smile.

Perfectly Imperfect — The Trash Panda Way

Here’s the thing about making jewellery from discarded stuff: nothing’s ever exactly the same. And that’s the best part.

Every piece I create is handcrafted from reclaimed and repurposed materials. I cut, shape, and reimagine each one by hand, giving it a second life (and a much better look, in my opinion!).

We don’t do the “clean girl aesthetic,” but don’t worry; everything is scrubbed clean, prepped, and ready to wear. And yes, you might spot the occasional rough edge, tiny texture change or colour quirk — and that’s exactly how I like it. Around here, raw edges rock.

Because of that, no two pieces are ever identical. It’s not a flaw; it’s proof that your jewellery has its own story. Each Trash Panda design is completely unique, responsibly made, and proudly imperfect. Just the way it should be.
